Man, it has been awhile!
Well here is me getting back on track. A few days ago nature was calling me, not in that way. “Get outside, get away, get some fresh air.” Nature can be kind of bossy sometimes. But with bossy nature whispering in my ear and my roommate to show me a great view, I was able to get away. This was just what the doctor ordered. In a time where my mind had been so weighed down by questions like; what am I going to do with my life, what decisions am I going to make about work, about continuing my education, what is my path supposed to be, clearing my mind with some peace and serenity is exactly what I needed.
It helped me realize a few things.
First, calm down! You only have a small amount of control over your life, why waste the energy worrying about the things you can’t control. Sounds cliche, right? Funny thing about cliches, they are cliches because they are true! That’s the most I have ever used the word “cliche” at one time. Cliche.
Second, enjoy your time. Did you know that there are 86,400 seconds in twenty-four hours? That means if you sleep for eight hours a night, you are only awake for 57,600 seconds. I don’t care who you are, that is not a lot of time.
Third, take a chance. Remember those 86,400 seconds? Use them. Make a mistake, ruin your life, take a chance. Put yourself out there, you never know who you will meet, what you will do, or where you will go. Always keep in mind, you will be okay. If all you did was wake up this morning, your day is already better than most.
